The Guild Bank is the foremost financial institution in the realm. It was chartered by the Emperor of Dargarth in 1 DY to encourage economic development in the realm. It is not a formal part of The Explorers Guild, although it is closely tied to it.
According to its original charter, The Guild Bank was created to
- facilitate economic activity in the realm by offering loans and financial services to individuals and sovereign entities.
- provide cost free banking for Guild members and a fee based bank for individuals and sovereign entities.
- finance further exploration of the realm.
The Bank is operated by the Bank Governor, currently Baron Arminius. Members have voting rights according to how many shares of the bank they own. They also receive seasonal dividends on the bank's profits.
The Guild Bank offers services including, holding of deposits, the drawing and depositing of cheques, issuing loans, and other financial services. These services are available to all members of the realm, including sovereign states.
