The Witchbane Cragon has been put down, and the Damned have been expelled from Dryad's Rest. With their leadership gone and their stronghold destroyed, elements of the undead army have scattered outwards, invading the holdings of all the countries of the First Kingdom.

On the 7th day of September, in the lord's year 4 DY, following the destruction of the Witchbane Cragon (at last) and the capping of the font of corruption located in Dryad's Rest, elements of The Damned scattered and invaded the nations of the First Kingdom.

Successes:

Erzoth successfully defeated a lich and its horde of zombies through overwhelming use of arcane might. Battle magic of nature and formal sorcery shattered the lesser undead, and the lich fell under superior martial force.

RagnFjord faced a similar threat as Erzoth, and likewise defended their territory through a combination of martial force and blades blessed by their country's leading priest.

Sanctuary faced a smaller pack of zombies, led by a monstrous, stitched together monstrosity. Lucian, the paladin-king of that country, blessed the silvered blades of his hired swords and led them against the undead.

Legion & Dominion faced similar threats: small roving groups of ravenous undead which laid siege to their respective castles. In both cases their strength and fortitude succeeded in shattering the gates, but from there the battles went south for the ghouls. The ghouls assaulting Dominion ran straight into a siege ballista guarding the breach. Legion placed archers in the corners of their castle and fired blessed arrows into the flanks, and when the ghouls attempted to charge the breach an allied cleric shattered them.

Bitterpeak faced a half-dozen skeletal knights, accompanied by a large stitched man, which invaded the previous home of the "angry peasants." Luckily they had months ago moved across the stream to the "town" of Mudhole.

Defeat:

The Damned marched upon Moot, but no defenders took the field to defend the empty stretch of desert.

Mardur faced a smaller pack of zombies, led by a monstrous, stitched together monstrosity. While they fought off the corpse-beast, one of the lesser zombies was able to get behind their forces, and struck them down, causing a breach in their forces they were unable to recover from.

The Explorer faced invasion on their southern coast. Seven figures wearing the surcoats of the country of Narscin walked out of the ocean and laid siege to the Gates of Narscina. As they approached the tower's gates, the skeletal faces of six were discerned under their helms, while the seventh was seen to be a monstrously large individual with a mismatched face held together by large, crude stitches, who bellowed in rage. Despite the excellent defense conducted by the Explorers, the undead were eventually able to force their way past the gates. The holy blade of Count Arminius felled many of the skeletal knights, and the battle was decided in single combat between the golem and Arminius. Unfortunately the lesser blows of the skeletons had created a week point in the Count's armor, which the monstrosity was able to smash through, felling the lord.

Briarwood was the only country to face a pack of the malevolent patchwork zombies. The magic the country is known for was curiously absent that day, and the defenders were struck down, luckily in a stretch of forest absent the small villages the Briarwood jungle is known for.

The Blood Moons were a curious case of the day. One of their warriors took the field with a small squad of mercenaries to face a pack of ghouls. Unfortunatly the undead overran them, their ghoulish fortitude allowing them to stave off blows, while their virulent blades paralyzed the defenders. In an act of reasoning they are not known for, the ghouls went back and slit the throats of the mercenaries, but then (none-to-gently) carried the disabled Blood Moon from the battlefield.
