{{#if:Any|}} Knights have AR 4.

Basics

Knights are trained warriors, supported by the wealth of at least a small village. Knights often have a military duty to more powerful nobles, and must maintain their armour and weapons for battle. Rarely seen without their full suits of armour, they are always at the ready for conflict. Their armour may be well-maintained and polished, lending to that of a landed Knight, or may be in disrepair or simply overly worn, for a traveling Knight. The most common form of Knight is the landlord of a manor village. The Peasants who work their land provide some of the harvest or other payment to the Knight, who then protects the people from raiders and highwaymen. Additionally, the Knight may owe service to a more senior noble. A Knight is a powerful person is most societies, and they may sometimes make demands of commoners, even those who do not work their lands. It is wise to not anger such a Knight, since they often have the abilities and rights to enforce their wills.

Behaviour

The behaviour of Knights varies radically. Oft times they are pompous and condescending and feel entitled to much the realm has to offer such a powerful and respected pillar of nobility. Though they are often treated porrly and commanded like dogs by their superiours, Knights take this frustration out on smallfolk and strangers. Though some still hold onto the vows they have sworn and retain a sense of honour and duty, most are just as corrupt as the lords whom have higher them. There is little reasoning with them.

Combat

Knights are commonly equipped with the finest armour available. Even poorer knights still have heavy armor to protect them. You can expect them to wear plate armor, or at least heavy scale. Knights are armed according to their tastes, but is common for them to carry heavy shields or powerful two handed weapons. They are often accompanied by a retinue of trained soldiers. This armour and training means that a Knight’s party can be very difficult to overcome. They rarely have access to magics though, so it is possible to defeat them with the aid of a powerful spellcaster. Knights can cut a swath through lighter troops, so be sure to engage them with a well thought out plan.
