Overview
Located in the eastern foothills of the Abbot mountains, the sheablands are the holdings of Rasheab of Legion.
The region agrarian, known almost exclusively for the cultivation of hops and grapes (and the distillation thereof), and the crops are tended by dedicated shepherdesses. Economically the region is known for little aside from its libations and it's gambling establishments, and is considered fairly indolent; but it is corresponding known for its festivals and revelries (and carousing), along with the quality (and quantity) of its gaming houses.
Otherwise it is a picturesque, pastoral region with many ancient fortifications overlooking the mountain valleys.

Recently History
4 DY: a feud almost erupted between the Sheablands and the downriver plantation region of Goodlo Bar over the exportation of sugar (which the Sheablands depends on for many of its products). When the flow of sugar was threatened to be severely curtailed, in turn it was threatened that the river would be dammed near its source, which would have caused a drought in the downriver fields.
Eventually situation was resolved to both leader's satisfaction, and as a side effect Goodlo Bar gained ownership of all the male German Shepherds, while the Sheablands retains custodianship of the female German Shepherds (because girl dogs are better).
7 DY: the Sheablands sent a small land survey delegation to the neighboring territory ruled by Mardur to dispute land ownership markers. When Thorne adamantly insisted the markers were accurate, Rasheab offered to purchase the area, and then proposed to gamble for the territory (with terrible odds to himself). While settling the terms for the wager he was stabbed with a poison dagger by Scritta.

The name of the Sheablands came when Tanner/Thorne of Mardur said that Rasheab should go form his own country, and call it the Sheablands.
