These repulsive beings are roughly the size of a small human, but the filth and vegetation that covers them makes it difficult to discern their true form. They spend much of their life under the waters of bogs and swamps, only rising from the muck to attack prey and intruders. They have been observed to eat birds, fish, and rumors circle of them devouring wayward humans.

They seem to have a subordinate relationship to the larger and more powerful Filth Flingers, perhaps even being the same species. Bog Monsters are more common though, and are always found in larger numbers. They seem to cooperate in attempts to ambush travelers, although neither have ever launched large scale attacks. Due to their amphibious nature, Bog Monsters have never been observed in terrain besides swamps and wetlands.

Bog Monsters are able to throw the muck which covers their bodies. This material is extremely adhesive, and it ensnares anyone unlucky enough to be caught in it. Their bodies are very fragile though, and a single strong blow is often enough to dispatch them. The ability to ensnare opponents means Bog Monsters can be very threatening in large numbers.
