Bookkeeping. I would like to keep a list of inactive items and relics that are currently not in play.

Plus if we want to add in some more obscure items (such as the shields of power from that adventure Bodvarr ran, that granted a daily use of a powerful spell for three months) we can use this marker to differentiate them from the other in-game items.
