Born by a small creek within the forest, Silas was a member of a small family of very poor woodelves. His parents never ventured out beyond the lush safety of the trees, but Silas is an intrepid soul. He left the safety of the forest to explore new lands and meet new people. He regularly sends letters back home, with stories of foreign food for his mother, and to his father the scientific knowledge that the explorer guild can provide.
