Backstory Brain Storming (OoC)

The Great Southern Desert is the testing grounds of Legion, and has deep cultural and ancestral roots for many of its warriors. Consequently the Great Desert is considered sacred Legion, for it is home culturally (and often literally).

Legion is composed of a number of semi-independent warbands. The leaders of each warband are responsible for their own men. The warband leaders also sit on council which runs the city; certain leaders step forward and take up additional logistical duties, acting as first among equals. Warbands may act independently, or warband leaders may raise and lead warhosts, composed of many bands.

The capital of Legion stands at the northernmost point of the great desert, and acts as a central location for the warbands to gather, acting as an oasis where they can rest, trade, and resupply, before they take up a new contract or continue their semi-nomadic wanderings (consequently some districts can be rowdy and lawless, catering to the mercenaries with gold burning in their pockets).
