Biography

The details of Eino's birth and early life vary with each telling, depending largely on who he's trying to impress, deceive, or hide from. It's fairly certain though that he spent much of it involved in a variety of petty crime throughout RagnFjord, moving on whenever a scam played out or a theft was discovered. Despite his heritage, the closest he usually came to a battlefield was looting the periphery. Until the frost giants came to Otava, a small village where Eino had set up shop dealing in "military surplus" (ie. dead men's boots). He survived, barely, but was left destitute. His wanderings eventually led him to the site of a great battle, where he lucked upon a dead kobold clutching a full purse in it's hands. Enriched and emboldened, he followed the trail of armed men north, eventually finding himself in the capitol, where he now seeks ways to turn that lucky find into an empire.

Personality and Practices

Eino is not a warrior at heart, but his experiences in Otava have convinced him of the virtue of surrounding himself with heavily armed fellows. He can handle a sword and dagger well enough to keep himself safe in the slums and back alleys where he makes his home, but his fel-handedness makes shield use impractical, so on the battlefield he prefers to act as flank-guard for a shield-bearing fighter. When he breaks off on his own it's usually because he's spotted a corpse ripe for looting, some other valuable left insufficiently guarded, or an enemy too focused elsewhere to notice an approaching dagger. Off the battlefield he's always looking for ways to turn gold into more gold, often via alliances and deals with other dwellers in the shadows.
