Notes and Questions: stuff about editing the wiki

Rasheab (talk) 15:10, 27 November 2012 (PST) - I hate writing on "talk" or user pages about random questions, because they are rarely seen. So I'm giving this a try.

Lets try organizing this with 3rd and 4th level heading titles

=== Title of subject ===
==== title of subject ===

respectively. We can use strike-outs through the subject header when we're done with it.

<strike>  Strike out  </strike>

is the code, and

~~~~
tildas add your signature. Fyi in case you didn't know.
Category: Ranks and Titles, vs Country Leaders
I would like to tag OC country leaders so that they are easier to find on the wiki (I realize you can click on the country normally, but one list would be nice to have at times). "Category: Ranks & Titles" says it's only for nobles and knights, but do you have a problem with: A) a "Category:Country Leader" B) that showing up in "Category: Ranks and Titles" (since they are, ranks)
Sounds fine to me. One more thing to update though. Arminius (talk) 16:04, 27 November 2012 (PST)
K. I'll get around to it sooner or later (I'm not sure how to make templates, but doesn't look hard.) Rasheab (talk)
I was lazy and just used Category:Country Leaders. ~ Rasheab
"Category: Creatures" vs. "Category: Encounter Creatures"
Does there really need to be a difference?
I originally created the Category:Creatures, but then thought it may interfere with Player Character Races in some instances. So I changed it to Encounter Creatures, but could not delete the original Creatures category. Cragon (talk) 12:04, 30 December 2012 (PST)
Cool. I noticed it mostly got changed over; I should have put a strike through on this subject awhile ago. Rasheab (talk)
Organizations --> Government
Should "organizations" have a "government" line in their template? (It currently has "leaders," but unlike "Countries" doesn't have a "government/governance/leadership tyle" line.) Needed?
I left it out because it seemed less relevant. The terminology was also a little off. We can add it back in if desired, I just wanted to share my reasoning. Arminius (talk) 05:03, 7 December 2012 (PST)
Template Problem?
{{#if: Example|Example}}
Hex 1205, 2610, 2509, 1803, 1609, 3709
Terrain TEST
Country N/A
When you use Template:Location a "terrain" entry shows, but there doesn't appear to be a way to fill it in.
It just needed an input for terrain. I've added it to the copy/paste text for the future, any old uses of it will need the input added manually. Arminius (talk) 09:04, 30 December 2012 (PST)
Categories
We (I) have Category:Adventures (self-explanatory) and Category:History (for specifically history related lore entries).
What should they be tagged with? (Right now they don't show up anywhere, unless you know to search for them.)
  • Category:Adventures --> Category:Contents or ...? Category:Lore?
  • Category:History --> Category:Lore? Or Category:Contents? (It's a sub-category of Lore, but most entries in "History" are purposely dual tagged with "History" and "Lore.")
Individual pages should be tagged with Adventures, Lore, or History, which are themselves subcategories of Contents. The more specific categories feed into Contents, which is a catch all category for pretty much everything that's not about the wiki (meta category) Arminius (talk) 12:07, 4 May 2013 (PDT)
Ok, so tag Adventures & History with "Contents" (so they show up in that directory/listing). Gotcha.
