…Skin of the Black, despicable, flesh armoured destroyers. No hope. Horrible, enormous, in sight and scent. Forcing all, to cower at knee or waist. Malicious eyes. Maelstrom juggernauts. Terror embodied… No hope. Nether fruit be damned…
~ Friar Montene

Basics

Very little is veritably known of these rare behemoths that terrorize the lands of Dargarth. Once thought to be Lesser Demons, research has shown that these monsters are a race to themselves, but could be possibly be tied to demons in some way. It has been mentioned in texts that Ogres are tied to Nether fruit. These claims cannot be verified due to lack of evidence, and possibly the extinction of such fruits. Dark rugged skin shields the monster, and black horns curl behind their pointed ears and black mane. Frothing, gnashing maws host dozens of wicked teeth below their slitted nostrils and bright gold eyes. Their frame and size is physically akin to a troll, though the two giants appear to share no observable lineage. Massive clawed hands commonly wield massive crude weapons, such as enormous bones or pillars. Reports circulate of ogres wielding two-handed smithed weapons, such as war hammers and maces, in one hand with ease. These giant monsters are sometimes attested to be borne of souls whom have succumbed to fel influence. Erupting from the chest of the tainted and growing ferociously to full size instantaneously. No recent reports have suggested these claims, and it appears as though Ogres may have evolved or always were organic creatures. Reproduction and lifestyles more akin to earthly creatures than demonic ones. The ancient texts may be mere myth.

Behaviour

Seen only in groups, these hulking creatures seem to have a free will of their own. They do not fit in nomadic or tribal behaviour, and have been spotted amongst ruins, abandoned townships, caves, or even in the forests of Dargarth. As with other pack-minded beings, the strongest Ogre is often the leader, if an Ogre Magi is not among the pack. Any intelligent language spoken is unknown to our reports.

Combat

Their giant size, brute strength and resilience to blows make Ogres dangerous, but the pack mentality of the race is vastly more threatening. Though they do not appear to possess sophisticated military intuition, nor tactical cunning, they posses a sheer violence and strength in numbers. They do not appear particularly vulnerable to magical or holy energies, which again hints at an organic origin rather than a demonic one. Encounters should absolutely be avoided.
