Basics
Even more rare than the abhorrent Ogre, is the Ogre Magi. It is unclear where the Ogre Magi draws its magical ability from, some speculations suggest it is the soul it has been born from, or by a surplus of fel imbuement to the monster. Others insinuate an Ogre has made a pact with the Nether or has been corrupted further by an evil sorcerer. Similar in appearance and attributes to regular Ogres, the Magi can be differentiated by the addition of vile green runes cragged in its skin, seething of fel energies. Magi commonly possess a mane of shocking white hair and in some cases a beard to match. They are noted to being larger and more grotesque than the lesser fel drenched Ogres. Magi have been seen wielding massive staves housing fel idols or fel glass, most like to enhance their dark magicks. The true origins of the distinction between the two Ogre cousins is unknown. But it can be verified that both varieties of Ogre are intelligent beings.
Behaviour
It has been documented that Ogre Magi have been seen in leadership roles and are often commanding others. This could be simply because the Magi posses more intelligence than their subordinate cousins, or because their magicks make them more powerful. It seems as though only one Magi exists per tribe of Ogres. However, there have been reports of Ogre Magi commanding troupes of Goblins. Perhaps these lone Magi have outlived their tribe, or their tribe had outlived their usefulness. Their primal and guttural chants and incantations are assumed to be in a tongue unique to these monsters.
Combat
Ogre Magi wield their staves with astounding ease and can easily reduce a shield wall or fortification to rubble in moments with the help of their tribe. Rapid crushing blows and the ability to invoke fel lightning at-will, as well as the entourage of monsters the Magi routinely keeps makes confrontations dire. It is uncertain what other magic attributes the Magi may posses, its lightning can tear through shields and electrocute bodies of water with ease. Extremely dangerous, and rarely seen alone. Avoidance is imperative.
